Health Pillar Resources

This resource toolkit has been crafted to equip you and your organization with information meant to support the implementation of the Health pillar of the Strategic Plan. Included in this pillar is the adoption of a Pledge to Health, comprised of different standards that FRPA has identified based on a pool of resources. These standards promote programming and facilities balanced in nutrition offerings, education, physical activity standards and staff training.Your best resource is eConnect, where you can ask questions and connect with other Park and Recreation professionals who may have the answers to your questions. We have set up a new discussion board reserved for the topic of Health that you can join. For State of Health and Wellness Pledge Messaging download the document here.

We have been working closely with the Florida Department of Health and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to identify ways in which park and recreation agencies can team up with the state agencies around the state to implement healthy programming and active living changes in our communities. Both state agencies have embraced our efforts and are supporting The State of Health & Wellness Pledge.
