It is FRPA's intent to equip agencies to own the voice of community building through civic engagement and partnerships with state and national planning and design excellence organizations. Recreation facilities and parks, as key components to any community, should be at the forefront of discuss in the future of community building. We are working with various organizations at state and national levels to provide learning opportunities to inform and influence internal and external audiences to advance community building through smart growth, new urbanism and civic engagement principles. By educating professionals and community members, we will advocate for public spaces that lend themselves to community building.
The Community Building Workgroup has put together a Challenge that can begin at any time. Step One simply involves you meeting a new person and then introducing them to someone else you know-it's that easy!
