FRPA is pleased to provide resources to you to assist in your efforts to advocate and lobby for the issues of relevance to the parks and recreation field.  FRPA’s efforts are multi-faceted in order to assure that the public, elected officials, and our own professionals are prepared to be active advocates for the programs and services provided by parks and recreation agencies throughout the State of Florida.

These resources are intended to not only inform you of legislative issues we are following on your behalf, but are also to make you more comfortable being the most effective advocate you can be for parks and recreation. DURING THE SESSION

During the Legislative Session you can stay up-to-date by tuning in to the Weekly Session Video Updates and reading the FRPA Elerts when they arrive in your email box.

FRPA ELERTS

The FRPA Elert is an email communication which summarizes active proposed legislation within the State of Florida, and provides status reports on the proposed legislation.  You can easily follow what is happening with proposed legislation from the Legislative Session, by visiting our E-lert archives.  The E-lert provides links to legislation being followed by the Association, and will give a climate check for the Tallahassee climate.  Stay in touch with what is happening that might impact you.
FRPA LEGISLATIVE HANDBOOK

FRPA's Legislative Committee is proud to release the newest legislative tool for FRPA members and those interested in the parks and recreation movement - the Legislative Handbook.  This comprehensive resource will guide you through the state legislative process, as well as provide information on federal legislation, and communicating to your elected officials.

2016 LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES

FRPA has released our Legislative Priorities for the 2016 Legislative Session.  Be sure you familiarize yourself with the priorities in these general areas.  As the Session progresses FRPA Elerts will be emailed directly to members so you can stay up-to-date on the specific bills we are following on your behalf.
