Clearwater named Sports Illustrated's Florida Sportstown (February 12, 2004)
Clearwater has been selected as the Sports Illustrated 50th Anniversary Sportstown for the state of Florida. The announcement was made February 12, 2004 by SI and the National Recreation and Park Association.

ICMA NACo Study (Spring 2004)

Working with Teens Study
A team from the University of Nevada, Reno has just completed a national study to identify the characteristics of people who work directly with youth (ages 10 - 18) in non-school time programs. We examined the relationship between youth program staff experience, training, and educational background, and staff's self-reported competency in implementing the features of positive developmental settings as outlined by the 2002 National Academy of Science report Community Programs to Promote Youth Development (Eccles & Gootman, 2002). Additionally, we examined the characteristics that lead to youth staff satisfaction and retention.
